About the Silicon Valley Reads Program
What if all of Silicon Valley read the same book at the same time and then came together to talk about it? This is the premise of Silicon Valley Reads: One Book. One Community.
Students, friends, families, co-workers, neighbors, book lovers – literally all who live, work or learn in Silicon Valley – are invited to participate in Silicon Valley Reads Month in February. Organized by the Santa Clara County Office of Education and the Santa Clara County Library, Silicon Valley Reads works to promote reading and literacy, broaden the exposure to and appreciation of good literature, and build community.
Throughout the month, public events (most free) are scheduled to spark discussion of the themes of the selected book. There are many opportunities to read and discuss the Silicon Valley Reads book at libraries, bookstores, community organizations, and businesses. Individual readers can also post their comments about the book and its themes on the Silicon Valley Reads website.

- Reflect universal issues that people of Silicon Valley can relate to
