SHADOW LINES: Pull back the curtain and see what lies beneath the surface.

Join San Jose State University for Shadow Lines, a riveting, one-night-only immersive performance that dares to expose the unseen forces shaping our identities, our home, and closest relationships.

Time & Location

Mar 26, 2026, 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM

San José State University, 1 Washington Sq, San Jose, CA 95192, USA

About the event

In this revelatory months-long collaboration, San Jose State students and community members step into the light with stories that are tender, unflinching, and deeply human. Through movement, voice, and embodied storytelling, they confront the ways gender and cultural expectations can press against our authentic selves — revealing both the weight of those constraints and the fierce resilience required to break free.

You won’t simply sit and watch. You will journey.

Guided through a series of carefully crafted experiences, you’ll encounter intimate performances that unfold around you, dissolving the line between audience and artist. Each encounter holds a revelation. Each story pulses with vulnerability and strength. With every step, the invisible lines that shape our world become more impossible to ignore.

And then, together, we rise.

WHERE: Hal Todd Theater in the Hugh Gillis Building, 220 E San Fernando St.
