About the event
Join an inspiring online discussion "Color and Belonging," an intimate conversation exploring how skin color and heritage shape our journeys toward finding a true sense of home. As part of our Bridges to Belonging series, authors Elizabeth Eastwood (I’m With Them), Neerja Raman (The Chemistry of Belonging), and La’Tonya Rease Miles (Smart Girl) will share diverse perspectives on navigating the world when one’s identity challenges the status quo. From a mother defending her multiracial family in suburban America and an immigrant bridging the cultural divide between India and the U.S., to a first-generation scholar redefining Black excellence through pop culture and academia, these authors examine the "otherization" and "imposter syndrome" that often accompany being different. Together, they will discuss how we can dismantle barriers of race and prejudice to build lasting bridges of inclusion and community.
Moderated by Raji Pillai, scientist, writer and literary critic.
