About the event

A Sense of Belonging explores what makes people feel connected to themselves and their community. Artwork and photography include self, family, and neighborhood portraits, ceramic sculptures honoring cultural roots, and posters and zines about belonging in the Bay Area.

 

Artists include Marie Cameron, Saikat Choudhury, Mark Engel, Susan Harding, Gurmeet Lamba, Josie Lepe, Gustavo Martinez, Siana Smith, and Christine Wong Yap.

 

Special projects from the Othering and Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley

and Mellon Scholar museum intern Fatima Artan.


Closing reception with the artists, live music and refreshments, 

Saturday March 14, 12:00-2:00 pm.

 

Museum Hours: Tuesday - Thursday, 11am - 3pm

• Open Flea Market Day Saturday February 7, 10am - 1pm

• 1st Thursday open mic nights Feb. 5 and March 5, 5:30-7:30 pm                      


Open to tour groups by appointment.
